Surrounded by forested hills and natural beauty, the lake provides the perfect setting for high-speed fun on the water. Whether you're a seasoned rider or a beginner keen to give it a go, Waroona’s calm waters and welcoming environment make it an ideal spot to enjoy these adrenaline-fueled activities in the heart of nature.
Waroona Dam (Lake Navarino)
Located approximately 10 km east of Waroona, Waroona Dam is a premier destination for water skiing and other aquatic activities. The dam spans 145 hectares and is surrounded by lush jarrah forest, offering a picturesque setting for recreation. Water skiing is permitted between sunrise and sunset in designated areas, with specific zones activated based on water levels:
Level 1 Water Ski Area: Operational when water levels are at or above 196 meters Australian Height Datum (AHD).
Level 2 Water Ski Area: Activated at 200 meters AHD.
Level 3 Water Ski Area: Accessible when levels reach 206 meters AHD
🚫 Drakesbrook Weir
While Drakesbrook Weir is a popular spot for swimming, canoeing, and picnicking, it is important to note that powerboats and water skiing are prohibited. The weir is designated for non-motorized water activities to maintain its tranquil environment.
