Free Recreational Vehicle Short Stay Areas

The Shire welcomes visitors to enjoy our two free recreational vehicle short stay areas all year round.

Preston Beach

Located off the Preston Beach carpark with an entry point off Mitchell Road as illustrated below.

Waroona RV Area

Located on Fouracre St and Waroona Showgrounds, South West Hwy. 

Does my vehicle comply?

Recreational Vehicles (RV) must be a caravan, bus, coach or similar that is designed and used for recreational use that are fitted with:

  • an operable integrated blackwater waste system with a holding tank; and
  • a greywater waste system that is capable of capturing greywater without it being deposited on the ground (an integrated holding tank is not required).

The following conditions apply to both sites:

  • The time frame between one period of stay and the next period by the same RV is 5 consecutive nights;
  • Erecting a fixed annex is not permitted;
  • Clotheslines external to an RV are not permitted;
  • Accessing any power outlet is not permitted; and
  • Camp or cooking fires are prohibited at all times.

RV use and camping in areas other than the three sites below is prohibited, and RV use and camping in the incorrect area will contravene the Shire’s local laws and the Caravan Parks and Camping Grounds Act 1995, and can be dealt with by modified penalties.
